- Bob Dylan at head of the table. The voice of the generation of hippies and world changers.
- Bruce Springsteen to his right and Bono to his left. These two have an enormous fan base that transcends age, language, and culture.
- John Mellencamp and Bryan Adams facing each other in the midst of the giants of music.
- Elton John is at the other head and loves being there.
- Billy Joel is at his right (they are very good friends) and Dave Matthews on Elton's left.
This collection of souls and artists have caught my attention and have spoken into my life through the beauty of rhyme, rhythm, and lyrical prose.
Who would you like to see at your dinner table?

I don't have the seating arrangement planned out, but as far as who would be invited:
Chris Thile
Jimmy Buffett
Dave Matthews (and I would ask him why their music went down the crapper after 'Before These Crowded Streets'...but I would be polite about it)
Bela Fleck
Sara Watkins
Jean Ritchie
Dolly Parton
Jack Johnson
I would say Layne Staley, but he's been dead for a few years, so that would make for an unpleasant dinner.
I would just join Nate's dinner table, if he would let me.
Oh, and I'd have Matt Wertz there - my latest musical addiction.
I'd make sure I was sitting next to Dolly so we could gossip about the attractive men!
Ha, lol - Go Dolly!
Man...I don't know Nathan, but guessing by his "guests" I can see his a very very brilliant guy. (Well..except for that Dolly choice. That just makes me wonder.)
So I also ask to join Nathan's table (and I would also ask Dave Matthews why they chose to suck...but I would just go ahead and say it just like that), but in place of Dolly, I would put Zack De La Rocha, master poet from Rage Against the Machine...that is, if can pull himself away from fighting the Zapatistas down in Mexico.
You know, Jean Ritchie's out too. (Sorry, Nathan) And in her place I'll put Ben Harper.
